Context

BizOS is a multi-tenant platform built by a small team. Technical decisions made early (stack, tenancy model, authentication) shape everything after them, and the reasons behind them are easily lost.

Options considered

1. No written record: fast, but reasons are lost and decisions get reopened.
2. A wiki outside the repository: separated from the code it describes and easily out of date.
3. Architecture Decision Records in the repository: reviewed with code, versioned, close to the code.

Decision

Record significant technical decisions as ADRs in architecture/adr/, using the template in this folder.

Consequences

• Each significant decision needs a short write-up and review before it is final.
• New team members can read why the system looks the way it does.
• Changing a decision means writing a new ADR that supersedes the old one.
